Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer. But let’s not forget what Memorial Day is really about: honoring the men and women who lost their lives in service to our country. Their bravery and sacrifice are the reason we get to enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.
Whether you're staying local or heading out of town, you can absolutely enjoy Memorial Day weekend without alcohol—and still feel festive, relaxed, and included. I’m sharing some of my favorite Memorial Day batch mocktails perfect for a crowd, tips for prepping a non-alcoholic cooler, ideas for winding down without wine, and a few ways to stay grounded and grateful this weekend.

Tips for Enjoying the Memorial Day Weekend Alcohol-Free
Going to a MDW party where alcohol is flowing? Here are some tips to feel confident and prepared:
Bring Your Own Drinks: Don’t rely on the host to have non-alcoholic options. Bring a fun mocktail or a pack of your favorite NA beer.
Have a Go-To Response: If people ask why you’re not drinking, keep it simple—“I’m just taking a break,” or “I feel better without it” works great.
Find a Like-Minded Friend: Chances are, someone else is skipping alcohol too. Having a non-drinking friend makes the experience even better.
Enjoy the Food: Let’s be real—the food is one of the best parts of Memorial Day BBQs. Focus on the burgers, corn on the cob and dips!
