The Best Non-Alcoholic Spicy Margarita
Let’s make a non-alcoholic spicy margarita!

This spicy margarita mocktail has been highly requested, and once you try it, you’ll understand why. It has the kick, the citrusy bite, and that margarita flavor you expect, just without the alcohol.
The flavor gets even better with every sip once the jalapeño really has time to marinate.
If you love a classic spicy margarita but are skipping alcohol, this mocktail delivers the same punchy experience in a super simple, approachable way.
Why You’ll Love This Spicy Margarita Mocktail
I love adding spice to my mocktails because it brings back that bite and depth you expect from traditional cocktails (especially margaritas). Jalapeño adds heat without overpowering the drink, and you can easily control how spicy it gets.
More jalapeño = more heat
No fancy ingredients required (get them at the grocery store)
Easy to customize with or without an NA tequila alternative
This non-alcoholic spicy margarita is refreshing, bold, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
• 3 jalapeño slices
• 1/2 oz agave
• 1/2 lime - juiced
• 3 oz orange juice
• 1 oz NA tequila alternative *optional (See recommendations below)
• Rim: Tajin & salt
• Garnish: lime wheel + jalapeño slice
How To Make:
Add jalapeño, lime juice, and agave to a cocktail shaker. Muddle slightly together to get the spices flowing from the jalapeno. Then add orange juice, NA tequila alternative (optional), and ice to the shaker. SHAKE IT UP! Rim your glass with Tajin and salt. Add ice to that glass, strain, and pour your margarita over the ice. Garnish with jalapeño and lime.
What if I don't have a tequila alternative?
Add another 1oz of orange juice or add another flavor like pineapple, mango, or strawberry!
So What is Tequila Alternative?
Non-alcoholic tequila alternatives are made to mimic the taste, aroma, and slight burn of traditional tequila. Think of them like the NA version of spirits: crafted to deliver that same complex flavor you’d expect in a margarita!
Non-alcoholic tequila alternatives are perfect for those who love the bold, earthy, and slightly smoky flavors of traditional tequila. These substitutes are crafted to mimic the essence of tequila, making them ideal for mocktail versions of your favorite tequila-based drinks.
Favorite brands to try:
Free Spirits The Spirit of Tequila – More complex, with a warm finish and herbal notes. Inspired by aged tequila and artisanal mezcal, it captures warm oak and vanilla, bright pepper heat from natural capsaicin, and subtle smokiness.
Almave Blanco Non-Alcoholic Blue Agave Spirit (<0.5% ABV) - This one became my favorite in 2025! Almave is the first super-premium non-alcoholic Blue Agave spirit, made in Mexico, closely following traditional tequila distillation techniques. Check with Dr. if pregnant!
Ritual Zero Proof Agave Spirit Alternative – Earthy, vegetal, and a little spicy. A great go-to for margaritas.
NOTE: Please consult your health care provider if you have questions on consuming non-alcoholic wine that has less than .5% alcohol. This is NOT health advice.
