I haven’t played around with coconut much in my drinks—and honestly? I’m not sure what I was waiting for. This coconut margarita mocktail is officially up there with one of my favorites. It’s creamy, citrusy, and just a little tropical—everything I want in a spring or summer sip.
The freshly squeezed orange juice brings a subtle sweetness and brightness that really elevates

the whole thing. It’s refreshing without being too tart, and the cream of coconut makes it feel like a mini vacation in a glass.
This one is perfect for patio hangs, girls’ night in, or anytime you want a margarita vibe with zero alcohol.
Ingredients
•1 oz orange juice
•2 oz cream of coconut
•1 oz NA Tequila Alternative (optional - or add 1 oz of coconut water)
•1/2 lime - juiced
•rim: tajin
Here's how to make it!
Rim your glass with lime and dip it into Tajín.
In a shaker or jar, add orange juice, cream of coconut, lime juice, and NA tequila (or coconut water). Add ice and shake well until creamy and cold.
Fill your Tajín-rimmed glass with fresh ice and strain the mocktail over the top.
Garnish with a lime wedge or an orange slice if you’re feeling fancy.

So What is Tequila Alternative?
Non-alcoholic tequila alternatives are made to mimic the taste, aroma, and slight burn of traditional tequila—but with zero alcohol. Think of them like the NA version of spirits: crafted to deliver that same complex flavor you’d expect in a margarita, without the booze.
Non-alcoholic tequila alternatives are perfect for those who love the bold, earthy, and slightly smoky flavors of traditional tequila. These substitutes are crafted to mimic the essence of tequila, making them ideal for mocktail versions of your favorite tequila-based drinks.
Favorite brands to try:
Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative – Earthy, vegetal, and a little spicy. A great go-to for
margaritas.
Free Spirits The Spirit of Tequila – More complex, with a warm finish and herbal notes.
Lyre’s Agave Blanco – Smooth, slightly sweet, and mellow. Great in citrusy or fruity margaritas.
What to Replace Tequila Alternative if you don't have it:
If you prefer, you can omit the tequila alternative and enjoy the mocktail as is. It will still have the vibrant citrus flavors of a traditional margarita. Just add another 1oz of orange juice or add another flavor like pineapple, mango, or strawberry! You can also replace it with sparkling water or coconut water. Also, you can add some jalapeños if you want some kick!
If you’re coconut-curious like I was, this is the perfect drink to start with. It’s low-effort, high-reward, and such a fun twist on a classic marg.
